Botanic Gardens, Gibraltar

This project was for the Alameda Botanic Gardens in Gibraltar. A green and lush landscape set within rugged topography, the gardens themselves offer outstanding views both high and low. Our goal was to add an elevated viewing platform set within the lower canopy of the trees. Built on a rocky outcrop, the foundations are formed of brick pillars and timber supports, on top of which we built a slender oak deck, itself punctuated by an aperture for a mature tree.

One of the features is an angled baluster with a tapered oak guard rail which allows viewers an place to stop and embrace the views, leaning out towards the landscape.
